25th of April 2023 marks the 105th anniversary of our brave ANZAC‘s landing on the shores of ANZAC Cove.
Anzac Day Dawn Services
Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and France conduct Anzac Day services on the Gallipoli Peninsula. The services are held in 24 and 25 April 2023 and the offical programme is planned as below;
Anzac Day Gallipoli Dawn Service 2023
After arrival at the Commemorative Site;
When we arrive there, we are leave the coach, untill next morning you will not see the coach again, there will be check points for security, the rules are very strict, neither alcohol allowed to enter the sites nor drunken people, even if your water bottle is on you can not get it in to the site.
On the ceremony area there will be stadium style seats and sleeping bags area, the night is going to be very cold. We recommend you take same tick clothes. There will be shops for foods and drinks around the site so you do not need to carry extra food and beverage with you. There will be some informative films and documentaries shown on the big screens during the Service.
The Dawn Service starts around 5.30 a.m. After the service you will depart for the Australian Ceremony held at Lone Pine. You are going to walk up the Artillery Road over Shell Green which takes around 1 hour because no bus transportation allowed.
The Australian ceremony starts 10.30 a.m. which gives you some time to have a breakfast.
New Zealanders keep going on their walk from Lone Pine to the Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial. You will follow the main road to the Chunuk Bair. This walk will take around 1 hour.
On the way you will have a chance to see Johnston’s Jolly in which the remains of Turkish and Anzac trenches are located, Steele’s and Courntney’s Post Cemetery, Quinns Post Cemetery and 57th Regiment Turkish Cemetery.
The New Zealand ceremony for the New Zealanders starts at 11.30 a.m. on Chunuk Bair for the .
After all the ceremonies completed, you will meet the group leaders at the meeting points ( you will be informed about meeting points). We drive to the town of Eceabat with our buses .
Depart back to Istanbul or Canakkale. ( or according your arrangement to Selcuk/Kusadasi )
